You may even want to ask them if they have a demo CD or DVD that you can view. This will give you a good clue if this is the perfect band for your wedding event.

The internet can be a big help when looking for or previewing a wedding band. Many will have their own site complete with videos, pictures and music samples for you to listen to and evaluate. With this kind of resource, you will get a better idea of how professional a particular wedding band looks.

If there are testimonials on the website you will want to look at those as well. This will allow you to see exactly what previous clients have had to say about them and their music performances. If there is a repertoire, you will want to look at that as well.

You will want a band who has a broad range of music or whose music will appeal to many people. For instance, something like old country or acid rock may be a bit too narrow to appeal to the crowd that will attend your wedding. Classic rock from the 70's or 80's should appeal to people of all ages.

Indeed the price of hiring the band will play a large role in determining if they are the right choice for you. Make sure you speak to the band’s manager and go over the details in your contract. Usually you will need to pay a deposit when you agree to the terms of the contract to secure the band for your event.

And then about a week before the wedding, you will want to make sure that you are giving the band a call, just to make sure that everything is still on track and in order. This might also be the time to make sure that they are allowing enough travel time so that they can set up without a problem.
